Houses at Upper Lintz
This farm stands in the fields south of Burnopfield. Although the building in the centre looks like a terrace of houses, it was probably the original linear type farmhouse with attached byres for the animals. It has been converted to residential in recent times. The present farmhouse may be the bungalow on the right. The TV Mast at Pontop Pike is visible in the background.

View of Upper Lintz Farm
Looking from the road at Mountsett, to the south. There are superb views from here high up on the valley side, over the Derwent Valley and into Northumberland. You can actually see all the way to the Cheviots, 70km to the north. These are the faint hills on the horizon above the last farm buildings on the right.

This footpath runs along from The Leazes at Burnopfield to the farm here of Upper Lintz on Lintz Lane. It was once a colliery railway.

This lane leads down from Mountsett, past several farms and onto the Lintz road. Upper Lintz Farm down the lane, and the northern slopes of the Derwent Valley beyond.

Looking south along the old railway
This path runs from the Lintz in Burnopfield to Upper Lintz farm. It is on the track bed of the former Lintz Colliery Railway. This ceased operations in 1929 when the pit closed. It is now a popular walk for people in the area.

View up the valley from Mountsett
A view looking west up the Derwent Valley from the path along Mountsett Fell. This is on the top of the southern slope of the valley, hence the good views. Hamsterley Hall can be seen on the extreme left. The farm in the woods to the right of here is High Hamsterley.
