Dataset Information

Police forces in England and Wales provide monthly details of their force. This includes, amongst other things, details of their senior staff, policing priorities within each neighbourhood, any events that may be scheduled and contact information.

Please note that some forces are better at providing and keeping data up to date than others and so whilst data may be available in one area, another force may not provide or update that particular aspect.

Due to local processing issues, some data may be not available or may be delayed. Where such delays occur, we will identify these on the relavent pages and equally, when the data becomes available, we wil also update the site to refresh where required.

Unfortunately, Police Scotland and the Police Service of Northern Ireland do not provide the same level of data as forces in England and Wales do and so searches for Scottish and Northern Irish users will not return any data for this dataset.

Each month, police forces in England Wales provide a breakdown of their reported crime figures within a number of categories and you can view this data here.

You can see the total crimes reported and how it compares with other neighbourhoods managed by your police force and also view that data month by month.

Each force also reports results of their Stop and Search actions and these are provided in a summarised format each month and shown on a map relative to your local neighbourhood.

Whilst our data is standardised please use caution when comparing neighbourhood ratings, especially amongst different police forces. There are undoubted differences and challenges between crime in urban areas and those in more rural and different priorities and budgets by different forces will mean that certain crimes are targetted and managed differently by other forces.

Details of the elected representatives for the given area can be found on this site along with contact information, the representatives affiliated party, recent electoral results and details of your representatives history within Parliament.

Additionally, MPs activities within Parliament within debates in the Chamber or within Committee's will be shown together with their voting record, any written questions they may make and any early day motions that particpate in.

This data is updated twice daily.

Basic information about the area is displayed for each result and will identify the type of local authority environment in operation and this data is updated 4 times a year.

For postcodes within England we are able to provide a live feed of current and planned roadworks nearby. We have provided this data as a convenient map and a listing along with the status and severity of the works. This is a live feed and will constantly update throughout the day as highways authorities and local councils update their roadworks.

In Scotland we are taking a feed from the Scottish Road Works Commissioner which is updated once a day, usually in the early hours of the morning. This aspect of our service is currently in beta only.

This dataset is provided by the Department for Transport and provides coverage of all road traffic accidents reported to police together with extensive details relating to the vehicle, casualties and prevailing road conditions. Data is available for England, Scotland and Wales.

This data is updated twice per annum.

House prices sold or transferred within a given area are available and updated each month.

The address, price, date of sale/transfer and the property type are shown in chronological order.

The summarised data is calculated by StreetGuide from the underlying source data and not provided from the data feed directly.

UK residents by nationality broken down into local authority, unitary authority, metropolitan and London boroughs.

Estimates are from the Annual Population Survey.

UK registered companies and partnerships incorporated at Companies House. Current and recently dissolved companies are included.

This data is updated monthly.

Traffic level counts undertaken by the Department for Transport on major and minor roads throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

This data is updated annually.

Energy Performance Certificate data is provided as an open data set from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities and is provided for the promotion and better understanding of the current energy efficiency of buildings and potential improvement in the building sale or rental markets.

This data is updated quarterly.

Information pertaining to Schools and Colleges within England as maintained and provided by the Department for Education.

The dataset contains school contact information, head teacher details, which functions the school or college carries out, pupil roll totals and history, any special education needs functions and Ofsted report information.

This data is updated monthly.
