5 Lower Bar, Newport
Built in the early 19th century, presumably as a house, and then altered by the inclusion of a shop front in the latter part of the same century - the prominent bow window is original from that time. It also once included a shop sign comprising a replica tea canister on top of the bow window, sadly now missing or possibly in storage, which suggests it was likely a grocery or similar. The whole building including the rear wing was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101180179-5-lower-bar-newport/photos#.YNOaSOhKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1180179 in 1978.

Roddam House at 127 High Street, Newport
Built around the mid 18th century, and in use for a long while between the 1890s and the mid 1950s as a Nurses' Home, Maternity Home and welfare centre. It then became part of the town boarding houses attached to the nearby Adams' Grammar School until the early 21st century; now up for sale since the school built new premises for the boarders nearby. The building was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101054363-127-high-street-newport#.YNOV6-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1054363 in 1952.

Beaumaris House at 125 High Street, Newport
Dating originally from the mid 18th century, and in use in the mid 1970s as part of the Adams' Grammar School senior boarding houses, this fine building seems to have been released from the school's properties fairly recently (2016/2017) as the boarding has been moved to a more modern property at the rear of the school. Beaumaris House was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101367287-beaumaris-house-newport#.YMPSoqhKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1367287 in 1952.

2a Lower Bar, Newport
Built around 1910, the unusual window frontage reflects the original use as an agricultural iron foundry (hence the horseshoes). Having at one time also been a garage, it was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101295070-no-2a-lower-bar-newport#.YNOfA-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1295070 in 1978.
