Built around 1910, the unusual window frontage reflects the original use as an agricultural iron foundry (hence the horseshoes). Having at one time also been a garage, it was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101295070-no-2a-lower-bar-newport#.YNOfA-hKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1295070 in 1978.
