Houses on Westcliff
Westcliff is the name of the road and also, at least in my own usage, the name of the area. The houses were built recently, replacing those shown in Image Their site is shown cleared, between demolition and construction, at the back left of the space enclosed by a fence in Image

Talisman Avenue, Westcliff
This street is part of Image Visible beyond the far end of the street, on the other side of Image, is the main building of Image There is a Waverley Terrace nearby (Image). Sir Walter Scott, author of "Waverley", also wrote a book called "The Talisman". However, rather than being directly named after the book, it is possible that the street was named after the diesel-electric direct drive paddle steamer Talisman, which, like the paddle steamer Waverley, sailed on the River Clyde (both of the steamers were named after Scott's novels).

New housing at Westcliff
These recently-built houses in the Westcliff area of Dumbarton are beside Talisman Avenue (shown receding from view at the far left) and Westcliff (the next side-street along, running parallel to Talisman Avenue). The view is from Cardross Road, which is prominent in the foreground. The buildings that formerly stood beside Talisman Avenue are shown in Image, a view from the other end of that street. For views during the intervening period, see Image and Image

One block had already been cleared here, as had another on the other side of the road; that one is out of shot, to the photographer's right: Image The blocks at the left and the centre, soon to be demolished, are shown from the other side in Image
