Blagdon Cricket Club
The village of Blagdon has an idyllic setting for the cricket ground - right by St Andrew's church and overlooking the lake. No play today, of course, what with a January frost and all.

A village path
Blagdon is still a rural village, with many agricultural activities. The path leads through Timswell Batch to the church of St Andrew.

Blagdon School
This village school has a rather older history. A Thomas Baynard left an endowment in his will of 1687 for the funding of a teacher to educate the children. Also, Hannah More, the famed bluestocking, tried to establish a Sunday School in the late eighteenth century. This building is the current school.

Some hairdo!
Apple orchards are a popular home for Mistletoe, but this individual seems to have more than its fair share. This is Eldred's Orchard, a small place for fruit trees that was bought by the village in 1987 for £5,000. The trees are now a place of pride for the parish and residents can partake of the harvest. It is named after the last owner of the land, and locals expressed a keenness to dedicate trees to loved ones; such was the interest that another dozen trees were planted in 1996.
