10-30 Eastbourne Terrace
The west side of the street was developed by C.H. Elsom & Partners, 1958-62, and their central tower (number 20) remains as built. A few years ago the two neighbouring blocks were spruced up and clad in glass, and it seems probable that the tower will undergo the same process.

Ian Allan 'Trains Illustrated' Excursion at Paddington, 1955
View towards the buffers on Platform 1: the train is about to leave for a memorable run, by the 'Lickey Limited' to Bristol Temple Meads, then to Birmingham New Street - up the Lickey Bank, and back via Bordesley Junction to Paddington. This 'Castle' class 4-6-0 No. 7017 'G.J. Churchward' (built 9/48, withdrawn 2/63) took us to Bristol and, after turning, up as far as Bournville, where Stanier Class 5 No. 44842 took over through New Street and round to Bordesley Junction, whence 'Castle' No. 7007 brought us back up to London). Reflections on 10 Eastbourne Terrace, Paddington, London
The office building, 10 Eastbourne Terrace, was built in the 1960s. At that time its appearance was very different from that seen in this May 2012 view. The building was renovated in 2007-2008. One of the new features is the fully-glazed external cladding. It has a matrix of silk-screened ceramic fitting to protect against solar gain and reduce overlooking. The high-performance glass lets daylight flood the office floors and maximises views. Located opposite Paddington railway station.

The 'Night Riviera' Sleeper train at Paddington
Scheduled to depart at 23:45, the sleeper takes a leisurely 8 hours (just over) to reach Penzance, with prolonged stops at Exeter and Plymouth. The train consists of eight carriages of 1970s/80s vintage, four of which are sleeping cars, one lounge buffet and three seated cars. One of the seated cars is also a combined brake/luggage van.
It has just been announced that the Cornish sleeper trains are to be refurbished. Good that the service has a secure future, and good for the traditionalists that this old stock will continue in use, but perhaps a pity that an opportunity to ‘piggy-back’ on the order for totally new Scottish sleeper cars was not taken http://www.railwaygazette.com/news/traction-rolling-stock/single-view/view/caf-signs-caledonian-sleeper-coach-contract.html – the downside of Britain’s now very fragmented railways?
