Weak Bridge, The Greenway, West Ruislip
The Greenway, a residential cul-de-sac south of the Chiltern main line, crosses the Ickenham Stream. Signs draw attention to a weak bridge. The footpath beside the stream has been diverted for the duration of the HS2 works north of the existing railway: see Image

HS2 works, West Ruislip, May 2023 – diversion
According to published plans https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/378317/C221-MMD-CV-DPP-010-203500.pdf the Ickenham Stream appears to retain a course beneath both the Chiltern main line and HS2 while the footpath beside it is diverted and will cross HS2 by a footbridge. The photo shows the route closed where it meets The Greenway, a residential cul-de-sac south of the Chiltern line. On the fingerpost the brown signs indicate the Hillingdon Trail; the blue sign indicates Public Footpath U81. The indications are that this space will be re-opened on completion of the works: the path will rejoin the stream. A wider view, from the opposite direction, is Image

Footpath and river under the Chiltern Main Line
The Hillingdon Trail footpath and River Pinn pass under the Chiltern Main Line in Ickenham. The footpath goes through the left arch and the river flows through the right. On the other side, the footpath runs through Ruislip Golf Course.

See Image As the path and railway don't cross at 90 degrees, the brickwork on the face of the portal is skewed, giving an effect similar to a Norman chancel arch - see Image
