My eye was caught by the contrast between the red brick building and the white doorway of this modern office block on Capital Interchange Way.

This section of track forms the eastern side of the triangle of tracks at Kew Bridge and connects the Hounslow Loop line at New Kew Junction with the Kew East Line to Willesden Junction at Kew East Junction. This view is looking towards Kew East Junction from Lionel Road South. The route is an essential cross-London freight line. The presence of a platform is evidence that this curve once had passenger services. As part of the London and North Western Railway's electrification of the North London Railway's routes from Broad Street to Richmond, a service was inaugurated to Kew Bridge in 1916. My assumption therefore is that this is where those services terminated. The passenger services ceased 1940. Some buildings still existed on the far platform as recently as 2006.

The north-western and north-eastern sides both once had passenger services and stations, the latter's station being for terminating North London trains. This is the north-eastern curve viewed from Lionel Road South. The platforms of the old Kew Bridge station seen here were first used in 1862 and closed to passengers in 1940.

After many years (getting on for decades) of planning, Brentford FC are finally getting their new ground in Lionel Road, along with a set of tall buildings around it. There is still a long way to go.

Below is the site of the further platforms 3 and 4 of Kew bridge station, these were closed in 1940. That on the right (4) is more or less intact, that on the left appears to have been removed. The curve has no scheduled passenger services now.

Platforms 4 and 3, of which there is no obvious trace now, were closed in 1940. This platform is used as a railway maintenance access point. There is now no scheduled passenger service over this curve.
