Wyndham Park, Grantham, Lincs.
Predominantly for the use of pedestrians, the access into Wyndham Park here, from Slate Mill Place, is via the "White Bridge" entrance. The bridge was constructed in 1924 as a belated memorial to soldiers who died during WWI. The River Witham flows beneath it. The original plot of land was given - for recreational purposes - by Percy Chandos Farquhar de Paravacini in 1912 but the size of the re-designated "park" and its facilities have increased since then.

Manthorpe Road, Grantham, Lincs.
A view along a short section of the A607 - the Belton-Grantham road - as it approaches the town centre. A wall plaque on the terraced house on the left (No. 30) marks the humble birthplace of Arthur Harry Blissett (1875-1955) . He was a former Royal Marine and fellow Antarctic explorer with Capt Robert Falcon Scott, the famous polar explorer. Ahead, the biscuit-coloured building occupying the corner site is part of locally well-known "The King's School".

Wyndham Park, Grantham, Lincs.
A view from "White Bridge", a footbridge beneath which the River Witham flows. Access to the park can be gained from Slate Mill Place via the "White Bridge" entrance. On the other side of the riverside path is the entrance and administrative hub of what was originally an open-air swimming pool. This closed in 1971 and was partially filled in for the use of roller-skaters. Much later on it was used by the Grantham & District Model Boat Club for a period of ten or years or more. At present however, it is in a state of disrepair.
