Avondale Road
Looking up the hill towards Squires Lane. The road on the left is Montpelier Road. The London Plane trees and are pollarded every year to keep them a sensible size - left to grow naturally they become very large trees.

Dickens Avenue
Semi-detached houses on this narrow cul-de-sac. The 1950's council style seems out of place amongst all the terraces in the rest of the area dating from the early 1900's. The pigeons are enjoying a siesta on the grass while two neighbours have a chat over the fence, probably about the weather. The girder bridge on the left carries a footpath over the A406 North Circular Road.

Tudor Primary School
Opened in 1952, the school still has a modern appearance. The curved roofs of the classrooms are pleasing compared with the more angular styles adopted later. Originally, the school was separated from the A406 by a chain link fence - now there is a high brick wall with red metal fencing on top, as seen in the foreground. The gazebo in the foreground is a recent addition and a new classroom has been added just out of shot on the left. The road beyond the school is Dickens Avenue.

East of the junction with Avondale Road, Abingdon slopes down to the side entrance of the Tudor Primary School - one of the classrooms is visible beyond the fence.
