Brandon Colliery Station (remains)
View NE, towards Durham; ex-NER Bishop Auckland - Durham line. The station looks rather decrepit in 1965; it was closed to passengers on 4/5/64, to goods on 10/8/64; the line closed finally on 5/8/68.

Brandon to Bishop Auckland Walk at Brandon
The Brandon to Bishop Auckland Walk follows the route of an old railway; here it passes on the S. side of the village of Brandon. The view is NE. towards Sawmill Lane from a shallow cutting which is now quite marshy beside the surface of the path.

A690 entering Meadowfield
The A690 is passing Brandon and entering Meadowfield which is in County Durham as is indicated by the blue and yellow road sign which is the county style for signage, though it's not universal; Brandon of course is also in the county. The building behind the sign is a health centre.
