Ruckford Mill Cottages
Located to the immediate west of Image which lies just out of shot behind the trees to the right. They were built in the 18th century originally as the mill house and later subdivided.

Ruckford Mill
Mostly obscured by the trees in front of it. There has been a mill here since at least medieval times and may have been one of three in the parish of Hurstpierpoint mentioned in the Domesday book. The current building dates back to the 19th century and was sometimes known as Avery's Mill after the family who owned it. The mill seems to have been operation until the 1960s, similar to neighbouring Cobb's Mill, and has since been converted into a residence. Out of shot to the left are Image

The name of the field according to Hurstpierpoint's 1842 tithe map that lies to the east of Malthouse Lane and west of Image To the south is Herrings Stream and beyond the trees is Image If you look closely and you can see two deer who have picked up my presence and are about to scarper. I must have been down wind as they failed to notice my presence for about three or four minutes.
