Closed on Carrington Way
The town's health centre has been closed for over a decade, whilst a new centre was built to the west. Although there have been plans made public, it seems the council have declined to sort the old building out due to budgetary constraints.

Wincanton library and museum
The town library is on Carrington Way, close to the Co-op supermarket and in a modern facility. Previously, the museum was based in the High Street but faced lots of financial and ligistical problems. After alternating closures and re-openings, the museum moved in with the library.

The old health centre
Wincanton Health Centre was built on Carrington Way but was vacated by the N. H. S. in December, 2012. A new unit was founded elsewhere but the old buildings have been subject to abandonment ever since. Local entrepreneurs have made efforts to convert it and some council budgetting was initially made public, but that has since been withdrawn against the financial downturn. The site remains closed.

Sundial on Carrington Way
A small pedestal by the Co-op bears tribute to the town's friendship with parts of France. The legend marks 1974-94, along with Jumelage, Gennes & Les Rosiers. It appears that some sort of gnomon is missing and the engraver spelled 'friendship' with an initial 'E'. The latter has been partly fudged. See

Row of shops, Wincanton.
'Divine Wines' seems to have been painted this bright yellow colour only in recent years as in 2009 it was a grey/green colour.
