23 Apr 2022 | We are continuing to receive reports of drug related incidents in and around Cale Park and Cemetery Lane in Wincanton. It has been noted that there are groups of people hanging around the Cemetery late at night and the following morning empty beer bottles found in and around the Cemetery. We are actively increasing our patrols and targeting certain areas of concern. We will engage with the public in order to gather further intelligence and provide reassurance. Please remember to report ASB related incidents to 101 or 999 respectively. Response (18 Jun 2023)I am pleased to report that the Anti Social Behaviour incidents in the Recreation Ground have reduced. However, we are continuing to conduct regular patrols in Cale Park and liaise regularly with the Town Council in order to tackle any Anti social behaviour issues. |
23 Apr 2022 | Speeding on the roads in and around Wincanton is an ongoing problem and often reported to us by members of the public. Community Speedwatch is a visible deterrent to speeders with the aim to make the roads safer for all users. However, to enable this initiative to continue working it relies on Volunteers; If you can spare just one hour a month, please contact;- [email protected] More information is available on: https://www.avonandsomerset.police.uk/apply/community-speedwatch/ We are still appealing for Volunteers to assist in this initiative and endeavour to work together to make the community a safer place. Response (18 Jun 2023) Speeding is an ongoing issue in Wincanton and we need you the Community to come forward and help make the roads a safer place to be. |
18 Jun 2023 | We support our local shops in the Community with the aim to reduce Shoplifting. The Neighbourhood Policing Team will provide a visible presence but also urge incidents to be reported via 999 or 101 accordingly. |
