Old milestone
This very eroded step-stone outside Milestone Cottage, No.6 Town Street, Old Malton has no evidence of an inscription or lost plate. But there was a Malton to Pickering tollroad from 1765-1870 so it may date from that period. There is a cut benchmark at the front of the bottom step, now at pavement level. It is Grade II listed 1282508.

This shows the very eroded back of the step-stone milestone at No. 6 Town Street, Old Malton. This road is now B1257 after a Malton by-pass, A169, was constructed.
