Cranmoor House near Perton in Staffordshire
Very extensive renovation, building conversions and new building development have been done here at the Cranmoor Lodge Farm site.
This includes demolition of most of the former adjacent RAF Perton accommodation buildings from the 1940s.

Former RAF accommodation by Cranmoor Lodge Farm, Staffordshire
RAF Perton was open between 1941 and 1946 and was built on the site of a former First World War airfield. The village of Perton now occupies the site of the former airfield. Early 1940s RAF accommodation was here by Cranmoor Lodge Farm, and was later used as a barracks for a unit of the Dutch army. In 1947 RAF Perton was abandoned and given to the Agricultural Land Commission with the Dutch camp at Cranmoor becoming a refuge camp for Poles, Latvians and Lithuanians until 1950.

Around 2006, plans were submitted to convert the three main buildings to modern residential use, and also to similarly upgrade the farmhouse and its adjacent barns. Some buildings were to be demolished.
Since the work was done it is difficult to take photographs from the same viewpoint. The land is private and fenced off.

Housing at Cranmoor near Perton in Staffordshire
This secluded "hamlet" conversion development is on the site formerly occupied by RAF Perton accommodation buildings by Cranmoor Lodge Farm (now Cranmoor House). Natural vegetation encouragement by the Staffordshire Way bridleway now helps considerably in the dwellings' privacy. The 1940s buildings were much more easily accessible in 2007.
The nearby Cranmoor Lodge Farm (now called Cranmoor House) and its barns have also been renovated and converted, the whole site being described by estate agents locally as a "hamlet".

Building works at Cranmoor Lodge Farm
New buildings and conversion work are going on at the farm. Whilst that happens, the footpath through the farmyard has been formally closed, so it's hard to get a real idea of just what's going on.
