Acton Crossrail diveunder construction - view east
This photo from Noel Road bridge looks down to show both ends of the tunnel. There is a freight line on the far left, then the diveunder, then freight lines crossing the diveunder tunnel to enter Acton Yard, then the two relief lines and two main lines into Paddington.

Acton Crossrail diveunder construction - view east of goods lines
As part of the diveunder construction most of the goods lines into Acton Yard are being taken up and relaid in new positions. This has to be done without disrupting the main lines into Paddington, or the freight operations in the busy Acton Yard.

Locos at Acton yard
Much has changed here since this photograph was taken. Tracks have been lifted and simplified as well as power signalling introduced along with Electrification of the main line.A view of the country end of Acton yard on a warm May day in 1980.
