Entrance to former taxi road, Paddington station
Now rendered obsolete by the recasting of Paddington station and the new entrance area on the northern side. Taxis previously entered Paddington station from the north-west here, driving down a ramp between two platforms in the middle of the station and exiting to Praed Street up the ramped entrance between the Circle and Bakerloo line stations.

8.16 Sunday morning at Paddington Station
Unusual to see the place as quiet as this! This ticket barrier is relatively new and plays a part in the latest stress-producing wheeze: the departure point of your train is not disclosed until very shortly before it is due to leave, resulting in a last-minute surge of panic-stricken, coffee-clutching travellers ramming themselves simultaneously into this cunning filter device.
