Unicorn sculpture above gate, Kew Gardens
In 1821, George IV commissioned sculptures of a lion and a unicorn, beasts from royal coats of arms, to sit above gates in the wall to Kew Road. They were designed by Thomas Hardwicke and moulded in the artificial Coade stone. Information was taken from a Kew Gardens heritage web page.

Unicorn Gate
This delightful gate into the Royal Botanic Gardens from Kew Road is late 18th or early 19th century. Listed, grade II, with details at: https://www.historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1251784

Campanile, Kew Gardens
The campanile was built to disguise a chimney for the Palm House boilers. It was designed by Decimus Burton. Currently there are proposals to site mobile phone transmitters inside it. [Addition November 2011] The phone masts have not been installed yet, but following consultation with local residents Richmond Council gave permission, and RBG Kew are negotiating with a Telecoms supplier.

Victoria Gate, Kew Gardens
This entrance to the Royal Botanic Gardens is on Kew Road, opposite the end of Lichfield Road. It is just a few minutes' walk from Kew Gardens station, and there are frequent buses along Kew Road.
