Former pub recently closed. The roundabout has also been superseded by the A259/A2070 junction. Once serving the busy B2080 and B2070 out of the marshes both roads are now quiet backwaters.

Re-roofing the former Fleur de Lis Inn
Work is ongoing to the former Image Planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application numbers Y15/341/SH for the “change of use and conversion of the former public house to provide ground floor retail and office use (Class A1/B1), and 4 self contained flats in the upper floors, together with erection of a three storey side extension with the upper floor in the roof space and other external alterations and associated parking and landscaping” and Y15/0342/SH for “listed building consent for the erection of a three storey side extension with the upper floor in the roof space and other external and internal alterations in connection with change of use and conversion of the former public house”. Fleur de Lis Inn
Although the former public house has boarded up windows and main door, it has just been sold by the chartered surveyors Taylor Riley Stafford http://taylorriley.co.uk/ Planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y15/341/SH for “change of use and conversion of the former public house to provide ground floor retail and office use (Class A1/B1), and 4 self contained flats in the upper floors, together with erection of a three storey side extension with the upper floor in the roofspace and other external alterations and associated parking and landscaping”. Hoarding, King Street
It hides the site of Image for which planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y14/0578/SH for the “erection of a block of 4 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; a block of 5 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; and 2 semi-detached dwellings; together with associated parking, sewage treatment plant and access way, following demolition of buildings”. Eventually Image was constructed on the site.

Former coach depot, King Street
Planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y14/0578/SH for the “erection of a block of 4 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; a block of 5 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; and two semi-detached dwellings; together with associated parking, sewage treatment plant and access way, following demolition of existing buildings”. The house beyond the site is called The Cottage; it appeared to be derelict.

This was the Image in 2016; it seems to have been replaced by hoarding of a lighter colour and fitted with a gate and door. Planning permission has been approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y18/0523/FH for the “erection of two blocks of 4 two-storey dwellings, with some rooms in roof, and a block of 3.two-storey dwellings (11 dwellings in total), with some rooms in roof, together with associated parking, sewerage treatment plant and access way”. This has superseded the previous planning permission, which was approved, with conditions, by Folkestone and Hythe District Council under application number Y14/0578/SH for the “erection of a block of 4 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; a block of 5 two storey dwellings, with some rooms in the roof; and 2 semi-detached dwellings; together with associated parking, sewage treatment plant and access way, following demolition of buildings”.
