Originally part of the Unicorn Hotel & garage, and dating from the late 16th century, albeit extensively restored around 1890. The whole site, which is now mainly the premises of a well known local wine merchants, including
Image just offshot to the right, plus a number of buildings behind the street frontage, was Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254993-28-29-and-30-wyle-cop-shrewsbury#.XARJlNSLTGg in 1953.

26 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury
At one time part of the Tanners Wine emporium on Wyle Cop, but apparently no longer signed as theirs. The building was erected around 1800, probably still has its original shopfront of that date, and attracted a Grade II listing https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101255111-26-wyle-cop-shrewsbury#.XABaqNSLTGg in 1953.

The Nag's Head at 22 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury
Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101255142-nags-head-public-house-shrewsbury#.XABdwNSLTGg in 1953, The Nag's Head is essentially 15th century, albeit much altered and 'updated' in the 19th. The somewhat plain frontage here hides a timber frame, although the clues to its age are there if you look at the jettied upper floors, and the 1st floor windows. To the rear of the pub, effectively in the courtyard, lies a complete gem of a building, the remaining skeletal timber frame of an early 15th century town house, described at https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101255127-building-to-rear-of-nags-head-public-house-shrewsbury#.XABe2NSLTGg. I will attempt to get a photo of that on another occasion, although there are currently (2018) some attached to the first link above.

27 Wyle Cop, Shrewsbury
Probably late 16th century, and Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101254949-27-wyle-cop-shrewsbury#.XAOnv9SLTGg in 1953. This structure was originally built as a rather fine town house, and has latterly been converted, at least on the ground floor, to retail premises, and has been part of the Tanners Wine merchants for some years.
