Battersea: The 'Lighthouse'
On Battersea Park Road, opposite the end of Albert Bridge Road. This is a fine Italianate building - just think how much better it would look if the decor of the upper stories were carried down to the ground floor. It has always escaped me why public houses are so frequently painted in colours which would be more appropriate for a morgue. Note also the roof-mounted clock, which, however, was not telling the correct time.
