Manorway House, 2015
The former LATHOL Administration Building. London and Thames Haven Oil Wharves Ltd. began preparing the site for this in summer 1964 between the Manorway and the parallel remains of the old Corringham Light Railway. It was first occupied in November 1965. The company was later taken over by Shell who ceased operations in the area in 2002. The building has survived demolition of just about everything else to serve the new port being built here, or possibly just those building it.

Manorway Office
This is the Manorway Office Building. It used to be part of Shell Haven Oil Refinery. I started my Career with Shell UK on the ground floor of this building. I believe it is leased by other companies now.

Manorway Fleet
Fifty or sixty years ago, and for a good time thereafter, this view was largely open water fringed with reeds. As time has passed the reeds have closed in over nearly all of the fleet. Fleets are the upper parts of creeks which have been cut off from the sea by the building of sea walls. This was the main continuation of Shell Haven Creek. Sluices were normally made through the sea wall, as in this case, for land drainage at lower states of the tide.

The Fleet, Shell Haven Oil Refinery
This area of water was known as the Fleet. The area immediately behind was the Marketing Terminal where the Tankers were loaded. The tanks behind that are the Haven Site and beyond them you can just see two stacks that are in the Coryton Oil Refinery.
