Steps at left provide access to a sloping wooded area above which is housing. Concrete column to right of car adjoins a mobile phone mast but is obviously a ventilation shaft for some obsolete bunker.

The Avon Valley Path, or AVP as it is often known, is a Wiltshire County Council regional route from Salisbury to Christchurch. It follows the Avon quite closely and can be wet in winter (and in summer).
