North of Marish Wharf
As often happens on the fringes of urban areas, along the north side of the Slough Canal is a fair sized tract of open land not used for anything much.

Bushy pasture, Langley
This appears to be, at least formerly, part of the estate farmland surrounding Langley Park. It was grazed by cattle.

The Slough Arm
The view looking east from the Trenches footbridge along the Slough Arm of the Grand Union Canal. It was one of the last canals to be built and opened in 1882 to serve the brickmaking industry. The last commercial traffic was carried in 1960, but plans to fill it in were opposed locally. The stretch was reopened in 1975 and has remained in use since, although there is little traffic.

Marish Wharf
Unremarkable modern business units beside the canal, but the name is much older. The village of Langley was once known as Langley Marish, the second part of the name derived from Christiana de Marecis who had the Manor during the reign of Edward 1st. The local C of E parish still uses the name http://langleymarish.com/
