Thames Valley Police Information
Thames Valley Police is the largest non-metropolitan police force in England and Wales. We police the counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, and serve a diverse population of more than two million, plus six million visitors who come to Thames Valley each year. We patrol 196 miles of motorway - more than any other British police force. The Thames Valley Police force area is divided into 12 Local Policing Areas (LPAs). Iver, Stoke Poges and Wexham Neighbourhood
Every neighbourhood in Thames Valley has a dedicated Neighbourhood Policing team.
Neighbourhood Policing teams can be contacted via 101, the Thames Valley Police non-emergency number. Always call 999 in an emergency.
Neighbourhood Policing teams…- Are led by senior police officers and include police community support officers (PCSOs), often together with volunteer police officers, volunteers and partners.
- May serve one or several neighbourhoods.
- Work with local people and partners to identify, tackle and prevent local, low-level crime, anti-social behaviour, and any ongoing concerns.
- Provide you with a visible, accessible and accountable police service and aim to make your neighbourhood safer.
- Have been present in every Thames Valley neighbourhood since 1 April 2008.
- Focus all of their efforts on their dedicated neighbourhoods, building relationships with local people.
- Needs you to tell us about the issues that concern you in your area.
- Has transformed policing at a local level, to meet the needs of local communities.
- Is known as ‘Safer Neighbourhoods’ in Milton Keynes.
From the start of 2010, Thames Valley Police extended its neighbourhood consultation by introducing a wider range of publicised opportunities to meet neighbourhood teams.
We will provide open monthly meetings to allow the public to influence our priorities. These meetings will be branded as Have Your Say opportunities, and in many cases will be held in conjunction with partners.
View Have Your Say summary and flowchart (PDF 40 Kb - opens new window)Once local priorities have been identified, a broader ‘toolkit’ of problem-solving tactics is being made available to ensure crime and anti-social behaviour is tackled effectively.
Across the Thames Valley area, there are many successful Neighbourhood Action Groups which will continue to deliver local problem solving, but the introduction of Have Your Say meetings will allow neighbourhood teams to identify more quickly those specific local priorities that need attention.
Thames Valley Police views the introduction of Have Your Say meetings as a positive step in tackling issues that matter most to the public. I welcome your support and engagement in this endeavour.

Neighbourhood Officer Details
Police Constables work alongside the community and partner agencies to tackle crime and issues identified by the local community. They work together with PCSOs to be a visible presence in the local area and build trust and confidence by developing a detailed understanding of the community.
Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) are the face of the police within local communities. They play an integral part in delivering effective neighbourhood policing, providing a highly visible policing presence and building relationships with the local community as well as working to problem solve long-term neighbourhood issues.
The Neighbourhood Sergeant provides frontline management to support and co-ordinate the activity of the neighbourhood policing team. They work with key partners and stakeholders to problem solve issues and develop innovative ways to identify and safeguard vulnerable people within the community.
The Neighbourhood Inspector has overall responsibility for the entire neighbourhood policing team of Sergeants, Police Constables, PCSOs and police staff. They are responsible for delivering on neighbourhood policing strategies, directing the deployment of the team and developing relationships with partners and key stakeholders to enable the neighbourhood policing team to work effectively.

| 8 Aug 2023 | Speeding Response (3 Nov 2023)As suggested by the local community, speeding continues to be a priority issue for The neighbourhood policing team. The team has conducted speed enforcements and speed checks on roads that are identified as having increased levels of speeding. Checks were carried out on Woodside Road, Amersham and Austenwood Lane, Chalfont St Peter, offenders were issued with fixed penalty tickets. In addition, mobile enforcement via road safety vans, as well as highly visible fixed speed cameras, have continued to be an effective tool in both preventing and enforcing penalties on speeding. We also support and work with the local community speed watch teams, made up of volunteers who want to assist in making their roads safer for everyone in the area. So far, their work has been highly effective in preventing re-offending. |

| 1 Oct 2024 | Anti-social Behaviour Response (10 Oct 2024)The neighbourhood team have seen increased reports of general anti-social behaviour in the area and continue to work to decrease this. The team have increased their high visibility patrols around areas identified to be most impacted. They use their hotspot app to keep track of their patrols and ensure all required areas have been visited. Recently, neighbourhood officers were able to identify four youths who had caused around £5000 worth of criminal damage, they were issued with community resolution orders. | 1 Oct 2024 | Drug offences Response (10 Oct 2024)Drug offences and the anti-social behaviour it tends to bring into the local community is a top concern for the neighbourhood policing team and residents. In response to this issue, the team have increased their high visibility patrols around areas identified to be most impacted by drug usage. The team have received increased reports of drug dealing on Plough Lane in Stoke Poges. Frequent patrols are continuing to take place in this location and on one occasion a neighbourhood PCSO found a small bag of drugs while out, they were subsequently seized and destroyed.
