A 1930s pub, probably, and quite an interesting one with its cubic front and extravagant chimneys. It still has an original Charrington's sign.

Pevsner says this was "Camberwell's showpiece [estate] of 1955-59 (Borough Architect F.O. Hayes)". A mixture of big slabs and lower blocks such as these.

A fire in its sister slab, Lakanal House, in 2009 resulted in the death of six people, at least partly attributable to the design which included only one staircase.

St Giles Tower, Havil Street
An eyecatching relic of St Giles Hospital, the work of W.S. Cross, c1890. This was a ward. For obvious reasons circular wards didn't catch on. Grade II listed.
