Vickers Road, Firth Park
This northern end of the road consists of small post-war semis. The road is about half-way up a steep valley so that the houses on the left side have first floors about level with the eves of the houses on the right.

Path in Firth Park
This path runs through the bottom of the steep valley formed by a small (as far as I'm aware) unnamed stream. the east side makes-up about a quarter of the area of Firth Park. The other side of the valley is marginally less steep and has been built on. This view and the subsequent walk up the path to Firth Park centre made me feel very old. The bank to the right of the path was just grass, with not a sapling in sight when we used to play here as children. Now it is quite mature woodland.

Vickers Drive
Formerly known as Rake Road - a name objected to by the residents about 30 years ago because of the association with tramps! Now that is suburbia for you! In the days when we had snow in the winter we used to sledge down here.

Hawthorn in Firth Park
This tree is now surrounded and nearly overwhelmed by larger species. Forty years or so ago it stood alone and had a series of curling branches. It was easy to climb and therefore was a training post for the local children and was known as "The Snake Tree".

The junction of Vickers and Cammell Roads
Both names referencing steel-based engineering. The property labelled with the no 95 was once the essential neighbourhood corner shop. In this case "Mrs Holmes's". Many an errand was run to here!
