Solent View
Group of 8 houses in Queen's Road. Although similar looking, the far 6 were built first, being marked on the 1908 25" map; the nearest pair, nos 7 & 8, were later, not shown until the 1946 edition.

Bembridge: post office
As I got out of the car here, I got caught in a heavy shower. To make matters worse, the office doesn't normally shut for lunch but it did this week while the postmaster is in hospital. It was 1:50 so I had another 10-minute wait before it reopened! See also Image

50 - 58 Foreland Road
Mainly late 19th Century houses in Foreland Road, first shown on the 1898 6 inch map. No 54 (the grey building) is later. Originally a single storey building built as a post office by local builders Weavers, opened in 1932, it later received a second storey to provide accommodation to the postmaster. It remained a post office until c.2010 (see Image) and has since been converted to residential use.

Dennett Road
19th Century buildings on Dennett Road, first marked on the 1898 6 inch map. The road was unnamed on that map, but on the 1908 and 1946 25 inch maps it is shown as Dennett's Road. The 1962 and 1966 1:10,000 maps name it Dennet Road.
