The Fair Maid's House, North Port, Perth
One of the oldest buildings in Perth which dates from the 14th Century. It featured in Sir Walter Scott's novel, "The Fair Maid of Perth" as the home of Catharine Glover, 'the most beautiful young woman of the city or the vicinity'. She was named from the trade she practised and indeed the house was used by the Guild of Glovers from 1629-1800.

Fair Maid's House, Perth
As well as being the oldest secular house in Perth (part of the building dates to 1475), the Fair Maid's House also houses the Royal Scottish Geographical Society's Visitor and Education Centre.
The modern building on the right is the Perth Royal Concert Hall, opened in 2005.

Marshall's Monument, Bridge Lane
Built by public subscription in 1822-24 as the Museum of the Literary and Antiquarian Society of Perthshire, the building commemorates Provost Thomas Hay Marshall. The architectural style is reminiscent of the Pantheon at Rome. The lower storey housed a public library and reading room, the upper storey the museum.
