The White Hart Vaults - Public Houses, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech
This building was once The White Hart Vaults on Chapel Road, Wisbech. It was also known as the Market House (as it faced the livestock market) as well as the taproom of The Old White Hart, being at the northern end of that hotel's yard, see http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4883198 It is now a domestic dwelling. The Midland Counties Hotel (Site of) - Public Houses, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech
This is the site of a former hotel, The Midland Counties Hotel which stood on Chapel Road, Wisbech next to the cattle market. The Wisbech Rugby Club house, in the background, is housed in a converted stable block which may have belonged to this hotel. The site is now a hand car wash in a former filling station.

W - FOUR Restaurant in Wisbech
The restaurant is now closed and has recently been sold.
This building was originally a public house called The Wisbech Arms before it was converted into a restaurant a few years ago. As the Wisbech Arms its main trade was from The Wisbech Livestock Market (demolished in the 1960s) which was over the road and it had extended licensing hours (pre 24/7 drinking) making it popular with dealers, butchers, farmers and many locals.

The Wisbech Arms - Public Houses, Inns and Taverns of Wisbech
This building was once The Wisbech Arms on the corner of Exchange Square and Chapel Road, Wisbech. The photographer has drunk in this pub before it closed. It is now a hairdressing salon called The Retreat. Wisbech: the Phoenix has risen
The Phoenix was gutted by a fire which started just after midnight on Thursday 29th April 2010. See Image Formerly known as The White Hart and more recently as The Phoenix, this building is part of one of the finest pieces of Georgian street architecture in the country.
Though it looks to have recovered, sadly the Phoenix is still just a façade supported by a massive steel frame at the rear and the windows are just painted wood panels.
