The Phoenix was gutted by a fire which started just after midnight on Thursday 29th April 2010. See Image Formerly known as The White Hart and more recently as The Phoenix, this building is part of one of the finest pieces of Georgian street architecture in the country. Though it looks to have recovered, sadly the Phoenix is still just a façade supported by a massive steel frame at the rear and the windows are just painted wood panels.
