Checking the Timetable
Prospective passengers check the time of the next 266 bus to Hammersmith as they wait at the stop on Tilling Road beside Brent South Shopping Park.
The 112 bus for Ealing Broadway is just pulling in. Operated by Travel London, it's finished in a rather dayglo version of Transport for London red!

North Circular overpass, Staples Corner
The North Circular flies over both roundabouts over the horizon at Staples Corner with the M1 and A5 joining them accessed from the lower sliproad.

North Circular Road flyover at Staples Corner
This is the roundabout which has junction 1 for the M1 motorway on the left just out of shot, and then a second roundabout joining with the A5 the other side of the railway arches. Originally this was a crossroads with a constant jam as you would expect, and the roundabouts were built in the 70s with Brent Cross shopping centre and the new extension to the M1 from Mill Hill. The motorway junction was built on the site of the Hendon greyhound stadium which closed around the end of the 60s.

The Staples Corner flyover
I lived here in the early 60s when this was a normal crossroads with associated tailback, with Hendon Stadium on the right for greyhound racing.

Staples Corner Flyover
I remember the 60s when this was a crossroads with a permanent tailback. We often went to my grandparents in Highgate and usually had to wait here for a while just before we turned left to get home. Hendon Greyhound Stadium was on the right with neon signs of huge racing greyhounds in rainbow colours.
