Hampstead Heath Extension
Autumnal colours dominate this view of the horse ride. Sometimes referred to as The Gallops, the ride circumnavigates the southern part of the Extension and forms part of a network of horse rides around Hampstead Heath.

Trees alongside Wildwood Road in winter
This is Wildwood Road which for much of its length borders Hampstead Heath Extension. The Heath Extension was not added to Hampstead Heath until 1907, at about the time that Hampstead Garden Suburb to the north was being created. The Heath Extension was created out of farmland, largely due to the efforts of Henrietta Barnett who founded Hampstead Garden Suburb. Its farmland origins can still be seen in the form of old field boundaries, hedgerows and trees. There are a group of ponds near the eastern edge, close to Wildwood Road. These are beyond the trees to the right here.

Travellers Bus
A travellers bus parked up on Wildwood Road. Permits in the front window indicate that it had just been to the Glastonbury Festival. The vehicle is a Bristol VR with Eastern Coach Works body. Numerous modifications have been made to the vehicle including decking on the roof. The driver of the Travis Perkins truck, a neighbour of mine, is on his way to collect the first load of deliveries for the day.
