Last days of the former County Hall, Cwmbran
This early April 2013 view shows the demolition of the former County Hall at an advanced stage.
County Hall, which was shared by Monmouthshire and Torfaen councils, closed in March 2012.
It would have cost £30 million to repair the building which was condemned because concrete cancer allowed rain to penetrate the cladding, rusting steel supports. http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2599278 to a view in September 2011.
The Gwent Police Headquarters building is in the background.

Dust and rubble are all that remain of County Hall, Cwmbran
This late August 2013 view into the Walters demolition site shows that the multi-storey County Hall http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/2599278 is no more. It was condemned because concrete cancer allowed rain to penetrate the cladding, rusting steel supports. It would have cost £30 million to repair the building.

Do not walk under this barrier, Croesyceiliog, Cwmbran
Behind the No Entry sign a notice warns Do not walk under barriers.
The barrier operates automatically and returns to horizontal rapidly after a car has left. Anyone ignoring the warning and walking under this barrier would get a sore head at the very least...
