Post Boxes and Corner House
Nether Street. In the foreground is a pillar box - unusually without any royal cipher on the door - and postman's lockup, covered with graffiti of the non-artistic variety, (those of a sensitive disposition are advised not to read). Opposite, on the corner of Eversleigh Road, is a house that would not look out of place in a gothic horror movie. The tree is an excellent specimen of the Monkey Puzzle (Araucaria araucana).

Approaching Finchley Central
A southbound Northern Line train rounds the tight bend on the High Barnet branch at Finchley Central. The pronounced cant applied to the track is evident from the photo as well as the check rail alongside the inner running rail. The train is routing to Morden via Bank.

Dollis Road
Looking down into the Dollis Valley from near the junction with Nether Street. Pavement parking has been instituted on both sides of the road in order to allow for an easy flow of traffic on this steep hill.
Arriva PDL86 storms up the hill on a 382 service from Mill Hill East Station to Southgate Station. Recently repainted, it has lost the Arriva cream cowhorns and carries the fleetname in small letters above the drivers window. Compare this with a sister vehicle in Image Several London bus operators are moving towards a simple all over red scheme, presumably to reduce costs.
