Morning on The Walks
Bright summer sunshine creates strong shadows across the path where it passes the children's playground between Market Place and Oakridge Drive. The hurrying feet of a commuter walking towards East Finchley station provide an element of movement to the photo - The Walks are a popular commuter route for those living in Long Lane and its surrounding streets.

Oakridge Drive
Not an Oak in sight, just two large Horse Chestnut trees. Always plenty of conkers! A commuter crosses the road on route to East Finchley station via The Walks. Behind is New Ash Close, housing built on the site of Merry Millers bakery.

Winter in The Walks
Part of an old sheep droving route from Hampstead Heath to Barnet, The Walks are a popular route for commuters and school children. This morning they need to be careful as there is sheet ice on this section between Park Gate and Oakridge Drive - just where the lady with the suitcase is about to walk. The snow is falling again and there will be more showers throughout the day.

Stanley Road Playing Fields
Snow and the dried stems of last year's dock flowers underline the abandoned nature of this place as the battle continues to retain it as a sports venue for the local residents.
