Manor Park Stores
Long since closed, though still in residential use, this shop was clearly not called Manor Park Stores originally - it would probably have had the owners name above the door. A victim of the supermarkets and the number of other small shops in the local area, the frontage is a memory of a bygone era with its pre-plate glass windows with glazed adverts for tea.

Manor Park Road
View along the terraced houses of Manor Park Road looking towards Holy Trinity Church on Church Lane. The centre section of this road has been pedestrianised - although the removable bollards preventing access to motorists have disappeared.

Keep Calm And Carry On
This World War II MOD sign which was never used at the time has been resurrected recently and is a popular poster for decorating student digs, etc. I'm not sure where the sticky back plastic version came from though - used here on a street cabinet.

Church Lane Bridge, East Finchley & 1959 Tube Stock
A Northern Line 1959 stock train is about to pass under Church Lane bridge, East Finchley, as it heads southbound on a Kennington via Charing Cross service on a very warm and sunny day on 15 September 1996. This part of the line is on the former LNER railway to Mill Hill East & High Barnet; the Mill Hill East branch originally ran to Edgware via Mill Hill (The Hale). The line remained open for goods until 29th February 1964 when it closed completely.

Church Lane Bridge, East Finchley & 1972 Mk1 Tube Stock
A Northern Line 1972 Mk1 stock train is about to pass under Church Lane bridge, East Finchley, as it heads southbound on a Morden via Bank service on a very warm and sunny day on 15 September 1996. The driver has opened the cab door for a bit of fresh air; a common practice during summer months back then when this older stock was still in service. This part of the line is on the former LNER railway to Mill Hill East & High Barnet; the Mill Hill East branch originally ran to Edgware via Mill Hill (The Hale). The line remained open for goods until 29th February 1964 when it closed completely.

Footpath Underpass
The Footpath between Trinity Road and Manor Park Road passes under the Northern Line. Water seeps through from the track bed above leaving limescale trails on the blue engineering bricks. Some poor quality graffiti adds a bit of colour.
