War Memorial, Islington Green
In 2006 Islington Council commissioned a new war memorial from John Maine RA to replace the old one which was by then in a poor condition. The new design is in the form of a granite ring, representing a wreath. A bus heading north on Upper Street can be seen through the ring. Compare this with the old memorial:

Former chapel, Upper Street (1888)
Grade II listed (described at this http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1297947 ) former chapel built 1887-1888 to the designs of architects Bonella and Paull. Closed in 1979, and subsequently converted to non-secular use.
