Floral Display outside the Bingley Arms
The public house itself appears to be in the square to the south of this, while the flowers and this half of the car park is in the square geographed. This is generally accepted as the oldest pub in England, with ale having been brewed here as far back as AD953. It was on the main route between Kirkstall Abbey and York, being entitled the Priests Inn until 1780 - 2 Priest Holes dating from the 1500's are still to be found within the building.
