Harewood Ward Area

• Road Safety - There is public concern about the speed of traffic throughout the ward area. 
   
• Residential Burglary
   
• Rural Burglaries -The theft of plant and farm machinery including off-road quad bikes, is a problem in all rural areas that border North Yorkshire but has traditionally been focussed on Harewood ward. 
   
• Rural & Wildlife Crime – Offenders targeting Badger setts, foxes and other wildlife are very often linked with organised criminal groups. 
   
• Fraud In the age of the internet, much of this is done remotely by phone, email, messaging, and other forms of social media.

• The team regularly undertake Operations as part of Vision Zero and publish updates on our social media pages, when appropriate to do so. The last operation took place on 7th November in Thorner around the school, due to concerns raisedby local residents at the PACT Meeting.
   
• We are using intelligence led patrols at key times to disrupt and deter potential burglars and we continue utilising crime prevention methods to target harden properties in the area.
   
• Our Wildlife Crime Officer, PC Katkowski is regularly engaging with local farms to offer tailored crime prevention advice.
   
• PC Katkowski carries out lots of partnership work with other agencies, such as the RSPCA and local animal charities to address rural and wildlife crime. He also the lead officer for the Leeds District.  In October, he was recognised at a national level at the 2025 CITS Cesar conference. He received an industry award for "Dedication to fighting Agricultural and Construction Equipment Crime".
   
• Our PCSO's regularly hold Fraud Awareness Talks, and PCSO Crossland often visits local community groups to raise awareness of the evolving techniques used by fraudsters. 

Wetherby Ward Area

• Road Safety
  Speeding is a concern in areas across the ward. We will work to target this using any resources available to us. 
   
• Antisocial Behaviour 
  Across areas of Wetherby town and Boston Spa in particular
   
• Residential Burglary
  In the residential communities in Wetherby itself and the villages of Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham. Day time offences of opportunity, e.g. sneak in burglaries. We will tackle this through crime prevention to target harden and intelligence led patrols at the key times to disrupt and deter offences.  
   
• Commercial Burglaries
  Address commercial burglaries when they occur, most notably on the Thorpe Arch estate.
   
• Fraud

• Officers continue to complete Vision Zero days in Wetherby. Following concerns raised at the recent PACT meeting, on 5th November a traffic Operation was carried out in Bramham. 
   
• We continue to see reduction in the number of ASB reports in Wetherby. Our PCSO's are working with businesses in the town centre to address anti-social behaviour through schemes such as ShopWatch, PubWatch and BusinessWatch. During business crime week earlier in the month we carried out lots of engagement of work with local businesses. 
   
• To address residential burglaries, our team have been carrying out targeted patrols in key areas to deter and detect criminals. We also have an ongoing social media campaign to remind residents of the importance of securing their homes and keeping valuables out of sight. We are pleased to report in October we saw a 75% reduction in burglaries compared to September. 
   
• Our team continue to foster good relationships with local businesses and carry out regular patrols of the town centre and other key areas, such as thorpe arch to deter burglars. Our PCSO’s also offer advice on how businesses can protect their premises. We are pleased to report in October we saw no commercial burglaries in Wetherby.
   
• Our Officers and PCSO's continue to give Fraud Awareness Talks in the community to educate the public on the developing tactics used by fraudsters. 

Alwoodley Ward Area

• Residential Burglary - The residential parts of the ward immediately north of the Ring Road both to the East and West of its junction with Harrogate Road are particular hotspots and it is believed that the main threat is from offenders travelling in from other parts of Leeds and Bradford.
   
• Theft of motor vehicles, primarily in the northern part of the ward.

• The team plan targeted patrols to prevent residential burglaries by deterring criminals. We also continue to provide the public with advice to assist them in protecting their property, including an ongoing social media campaign. In October, 3 burglaries took place in Alwoodley, which is a reduction of 78.5% compared to October 2024. 
   
• The number of vehicle thefts in Alwoodley remains low, with only 2 in October. We are continuing patrols to deter offenders. 

Moortown Ward Area

• Road safety - The team will be focusing on antisocial vehicle use including speeding, drink/drug driving, careless driving and the use of off-road vehicles on the road. 
   
• Residential Burglary - We will use intelligence led patrols in the areas of Church Lane, Church Avenue, Greenwood Mount and Green Road to prevent potential burglary crimes

• We continue to utilise high visibility patrols and the use of speed indication devices. There is a range of legislation available including s.59 warnings which includes the power to seize vehicles being used in an antisocial manner. We are pleased to report we in October we saw a reduction in antisocial vehicle use, with only 3 reports made in Moortown. 
   
• To reduce residential burglaries, we have planned patrols to reassure the public and deter criminal activity. We are pleased to report in October we have seen over a 50% reduction in residential burglaries compared to October 2024

Chapel Allerton Ward Area

• Residential and commercial Burglary - In the residential communities of Chapel Allerton and Chapeltown. The focus for the team is predominantly around shed and garage burglaries around the Potternewton area. 
   
• To target and address multiple road safety concerns including speeding and parking offences across the ward areas. An area our team are focusing on for speeding is Gledhow Valley Road.
   
• Theft from motor vehicles

• Our teams are working to reduce the number of the burglaries through intelligence led patrols at the key times by disrupting and deterring offenders. They are also working on developing intelligence with local businesses and providing them with tailored crime prevention advice.
   
• We will continue to arrange planned operations in line with Fatal4 to address speeding and driving offences in the communities we serve, along with utilising Speed Indication Devices to raise public awareness. These operations take place once a month with results shared on social media, when appropriate to do so.
   
• To reduce the number thefts from vehicles our team have identified repeat offenders and locations. These locations have seen increased patrols to deter offenders and arrests have been made. We will share updates once the court hearings have taken place. 

Roundhay Ward Area

• Tackling antisocial behaviour in the Oakwood area 
  We focus on areas of ASB and vehicle nuisance on West Avenue and Roundhay park and to provide a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.
   
• Residential burglary

• Roundhay NPT continue to foster good relationships with council teams and other partner agencies. Our officers also regularly engage with members of the community in 6 weekly PACT meetings. These conversations assist us in shaping a targeted approach to ASB.
   
• To reduce the number of residential burglaries, our team are undertaking targeted patrols  to deter criminals and reassure members of the public.  In October we saw a 20% decrease in residential burglaries compared to October 2024. 

Alwoodley Ward Area

• Residential Burglary - The residential parts of the ward immediately north of the Ring Road both to the East and West of its junction with Harrogate Road are particular hotspots and it is believed that the main threat is from offenders travelling in from other parts of Leeds and Bradford.
   
• Theft of motor vehicles, primarily in the northern part of the ward.

• As a team, we plan targeted patrols to help prevent residential burglaries by deterring criminals. We also continue to provide the public with advice to assist them in protecting their property, including an ongoing Darker Nights campaign.
   
• To reduce the number of thefts from motor vehicles we are carrying out patrols in key areas to detect and deter criminals. We are also using our engagement events to provide advise on methods that can be used to secure vehicles.    

Moortown Ward Area

• Road safety - The team will be focusing on antisocial vehicle use including speeding, drink/drug driving, careless driving and the use of off-road vehicles on the road. 
   
• Residential Burglary - We will use intelligence led patrols in the areas of Church Lane, Church Avenue, Greenwood Mount and Green Road to prevent potential burglary crimes

• All teams ran a number of operations over the festive period to catch drivers not abiding by the law, we now await the court results. We are now in the process of planning further operations throughout the year.
   
• To reduce residential burglaries, we are using a combination of techniques including regularly carrying out patrols in key areas. During the winter, are also running our Darker Nights campaign which aims to educate the public on ways to secure their homes and property. 

Chapel Allerton Ward Area

• Residential and commercial Burglary alongside inquisitive crime such as theft from motor vehicles- In the residential communities of Chapel Allerton and Chapeltown. 
   
• To target and address multiple road safety concerns including driving under the influence, speeding and parking offences across the ward areas.
   
• To act on community intelligence to tackle and disrupt the illegal supply of drugs and the linked anti-social behaviour which affects those living in the community. 

• Our teams are working to reduce the number of the burglaries through intelligence led patrols at the key times by disrupting and deterring offenders. We are also working on developing intelligence with local businesses and providing them with tailored crime prevention advice. 
   
• All teams ran a number of operations over the festive period to catch drivers not abiding by the law, we now await the court results. We are now in the process of planning further operations throughout the year. 
   
• We will conduct high visibility patrols in the area and use a number of different tactics to disrupt the drugs supply, including executing warrants where we have intelligence.   We focus on areas of ASB and vehicle nuisance on West Avenue and Roundhay park and to provide a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.
   
• Residential burglary

• As a team, we are pleased to report a reduction a continued reduction in ASB calls. We are continuing to work with council teams and other partner agencies as we make plans for the summer months, which tend to see a higher number of ASB reports.  
   
• To reduce the number of residential burglaries, our team are undertaking targeted patrols at key times to deter criminals and reassure members of the public.  We are also running our Darker Nights campaign, which aims to educate members of the public on the best ways to secure their home and protect their property.

We are continuing to work with council teams and other partner agencies as we make plans for the summer months, which brings more visitors to the Roundhay area and therefore we do usually see a raise in ASB during the warmer months. 
   
• To reduce the number of residential burglaries, our team are undertaking increased targeted patrols at key times to deter criminals and reassure members of the public. We are pleased to report across North East Leeds we are seeing a continued reduction in burglaries. 

Harewood Ward Area

• All NPTs were tasked by Acting Inspector Harper to run a number of operations over the festive period to catch drivers over the limit from either Drink or Drugs; we now await the court results and we will publish these once they are available. We now have further operations planned across Harewood ward area. 
   
• In Harewood we are using intelligence led patrols at key times to disrupt and deter potential burglars and we continue utilising crime prevention methods to target harden properties in the area.
   
• PC Katkowski has been a Wetherby and Harewood Officer for a number of years and is well known to the local commmunity. Alongside this role he now also acts as a SPOC for Wildlife Crime across the Leeds District. Throughout his work he is regularly engaging with local farms to offer tailored crime prevention advice to prevent rural burglaries. There are a number of schemes such as FarmWatch.

• To reduce the number of thefts from motor vehicles we are carrying out patrols in key areas to detect and deter criminals. We are also using our engagement events to provide advice on the evolving methods that can be used to secure vehicles and how to counteract the new technology being used by criminals. 

Moortown Ward Area

• Road safety - The team will be focusing on antisocial vehicle use including speeding, drink/drug driving, careless driving and the use of off-road vehicles on the road. 
   
• Residential Burglary - We will use intelligence led patrols in the areas of Church Lane, Church Avenue, Greenwood Mount and Green Road to prevent potential burglary crimes

• All teams ran a number of operations over the festive period to catch drivers not abiding by the law, we now await the court results. As we step into the summer months we have additional operations planned to catch and prosecute those endangering others on the roads. 
   
• Throughout February we increased the number of evening patrols to deter and detect potential burglars. We are pleased to report we have seen an ongoing reduction in burglaries across North East Leeds. 

Chapel Allerton Ward Area

• Residential and commercial Burglary alongside inquisitive crime such as theft from motor vehicles- In the residential communities of Chapel Allerton and Chapeltown. 
   
• To target and address multiple road safety concerns including driving under the influence, speeding and parking offences across the ward areas.

Our North East officers have been carrying out some additional evening patrols throughout February and as a result we are now seeing a reduction in the number of burglaries across North East Leeds. 
   
• Following our Operation Limit campaign at Christmas we now have a number of individuals awaiting court hearings. Once appriopriate to do so, we will share these results on our Facebook page. As we step into March we are planning further operations.

• As a team, we have planned and conducted targeted patrols to help prevent residential burglaries by deterring criminal activity. In addition, we have been sharing helpful crime prevention advice across our social media channels to support residents in securing their homes. 
   
• Although motor vehicle theft remains at a low level, we proactively use engagement events to deliver current vehicle security advice, highlighting emerging criminal tactics and how residents can prevent the misuse of developing technologies.

Moortown Ward Area

• Road safety - The team will be focusing on antisocial vehicle use including speeding, drink/drug driving, careless driving and the use of off-road vehicles on the road. 
   
• Residential Burglary - We will use intelligence led patrols in the areas of Church Lane, Church Avenue, Greenwood Mount and Green Road to prevent potential burglary crimes

• Traffic operations are ongoing across the Moortown ward to prevent and deter dangerous driving. Locations are selected based on identified hotspot areas and concerns reported by local residents.
   
• In Moortown, the team continue to deliver intelligence led patrols at key times to deter and disrupt suspected burglary activity, alongside the ongoing use of crime prevention initiatives to strengthen property security and minimise burglary risk. We are pleased to report in May we saw a reduction in burglaries in the Moortown ward compared to April.

Chapel Allerton Ward Area

• Our teams are actively working to reduce burglary offences by conducting intelligence led patrols at key times to disrupt and deter offenders. Alongside this, we are strengthening intelligence development through engagement with local businesses and providing tailored crime prevention advice relevant to their premises.
   
• Traffic operations are ongoing in Chapel Allerton to reduce and deter dangerous driving. Locations are chosen based on identified hotspot areas and concerns raised by local residents.
   
• High-visibility patrols will continue throughout the area, supported by a range of enforcement measures to disrupt drug supply, including the execution of warrants where intelligence supports this action. • Tackling antisocial behaviour in the Oakwood area 
  We focus on areas of ASB and vehicle nuisance on West Avenue and Roundhay park and to provide a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.

• With warmer weather and increased visitor numbers—factors historically linked to higher levels of anti-social behaviour in the Roundhay area—early partnership planning has been put in place to help reduce this risk. The team has been tasked with coordinating several days of action within the ward, with the first event scheduled for Saturday 8th June. 
   
• Increased targeted patrols are being undertaken at key times to support the reduction of residential burglary, deter offending, and provide public reassurance. In Roundhay, this activity has contributed to a positive downward trend in burglary offences.

Harewood Ward Area

We continue to utilise crime prevention measures to target harden properties and reduce the risk of burglary within the area. We are pleased to report there were no residential burgarlies in May in Harewood. 
   
• The Leeds Wildlife and Rural Crime team regularly engages with local farms to provide tailored crime‑prevention advice aimed at preventing rural burglaries and theft. Operation sites are selected based on identified hotspot locations and concerns raised by local residents. In the last 3 months North East NPT have seized a total of 62 vehicles and issued 129 fixed penality notices.

Wetherby Ward Area

• Road Safety
  Speeding is a concern in areas across the ward.

  In the residential communities in Wetherby itself and the villages of Boston Spa, Clifford and Bramham.

  Address commercial burglaries when they occur, most notably on the Thorpe Arch estate.
   
• Fraud

• Traffic operations continue to be conducted across the Wetherby ward to prevent and deter dangerous driving. Operation sites are selected based on identified hotspot locations and concerns raised by local residents.
   
• Our PCSOs are working closely with businesses in the town centre to address anti-social behaviour through partnership initiatives such as ShopWatch, PubWatch, and BusinessWatch. These schemes encourage information sharing between local businesses and partner agencies, helping to identify issues quickly and coordinate an effective response. Through regular engagement, high-visibility patrols and ongoing collaboration with the business community, the team remains committed to reducing anti-social behaviour and ensuring the town centre remains a safe and welcoming place for businesses, residents, and visitors.

These proactive efforts have been supported by ongoing crime prevention activity and engagement with residents to help improve home security and reduce opportunities for crime. We are pleased to report that burglaries continue to show a downward trend, reflecting the positive impact of these targeted measures and partnership working across the area.
   
• Our team continues to build strong relationships with local businesses and carries out regular high-visibility patrols in the town centre and other key areas, including Thorpe Arch, to help prevent and deter crime. PCSOs also provide tailored crime prevention advice to businesses, helping them identify ways to improve security and protect their premises. Through ongoing engagement and partnership working, the team remains committed to supporting local businesses and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for residents, employees, and visitors alike.

PCSO Crossland frequently attends local community groups to raise awareness of emerging fraud tactics and provide practical advice on how individuals can protect themselves from becoming victims. Through these engagement opportunities, residents are encouraged to remain vigilant, recognise the warning signs of fraud, and report any concerns, helping to build a more informed and resilient community.

Alwoodley Ward Area

• Residential Burglary - The residential parts of the ward immediately north of the Ring Road both to the East and West of its junction with Harrogate Road are particular hotspots and it is believed that the main threat is from offenders travelling in from other parts of Leeds and Bradford.
   
• Theft of motor vehicles

• As a team, we have planned and conducted targeted patrols to help prevent residential burglaries by deterring criminal activity. In addition, we have been sharing helpful crime prevention advice across our social media channels to support residents in securing their homes. 
   
• Although motor vehicle theft remains at a low level, we proactively use engagement events to deliver current vehicle security advice, highlighting emerging criminal tactics and how residents can prevent the misuse of developing technologies.

Moortown Ward Area

• Road safety - The team will be focusing on antisocial vehicle use including speeding, drink/drug driving, careless driving and the use of off-road vehicles on the road. 
   
• Residential Burglary - We will use intelligence led patrols in the areas of Church Lane, Church Avenue, Greenwood Mount and Green Road to prevent potential burglary crimes

• Traffic operations are ongoing across the Moortown ward to prevent and deter dangerous driving. Locations are selected based on identified hotspot areas and concerns reported by local residents.
   
• In Moortown, the team continues to deliver intelligence-led patrols at key times to deter and disrupt suspected burglary activity, alongside ongoing crime prevention initiatives designed to strengthen property security and minimise the risk of burglary. We are pleased to report that June saw a continued reduction in burglaries across the Moortown area. This positive trend reflects the impact of targeted enforcement activity, partnership working, and continued engagement with residents to help keep our communities safe.

Chapel Allerton Ward Area

• Residential and commercial Burglary alongside inquisitive crime such as theft from motor vehicles
   
• To target and address multiple road safety concerns including driving under the influence, speeding and parking offences across the ward area
   
• To act on community intelligence to tackle and disrupt the illegal supply of drugs and the linked anti-social behaviour which affects those living in the community

• Our teams are actively working to reduce burglary offences by conducting intelligence led patrols at key times to disrupt and deter offenders. Alongside this, we are strengthening intelligence development through engagement with local businesses and providing tailored crime prevention advice relevant to their premises.
   
• Traffic operations are ongoing in Chapel Allerton to reduce and deter dangerous driving. Locations are chosen based on identified hotspot areas and concerns raised by local residents. In the last 3 months North East NPT have seized 62 vehicles and issued 129 fixed penalty notices. 
   
• High-visibility patrols will continue throughout the Chapel Allerton ward area, supported by a range of enforcement measures to disrupt drug supply, including the execution of warrants where intelligence supports this action. Roundhay Ward Area

• Tackling antisocial behaviour in the Oakwood area 
  We focus on areas of ASB and vehicle nuisance on West Avenue and Roundhay park and to provide a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.
   
• Residential burglary

• With warmer weather and increased visitor numbers—factors historically linked to higher levels of anti-social behaviour in the Roundhay area—early partnership planning has been put in place to help reduce this risk. The team has been tasked by the new ward Sergeant, Sergeant Katkowski to organise several days of action within the ward.  
   
• Increased targeted patrols are being undertaken at key times to support the reduction of residential burglary, deter offending, and provide public reassurance. In Roundhay, this activity has contributed to a positive downward trend in burglary offences.
