See Image for the front; this side faces the beer garden. The pub claims to be the oldest in England (though there are other claimants to that title), with parts of the building dating back to the 10th century. It was on a main route between Kirkstall Abbey and York. Known as the Priest's Inn until at least the time of the Reformation (and the bar staff are happy to show you the 'Priest hole' in the upper room), it was renamed in 1780 after Lord Bingley. Listed grade II (list entry 1313185).
