Housing on Cartmell Drive
The housing to the right (east) of the road is part of the original development of the Halton Moor estate, the roads of which all have Cumbrian placenames; the taller blocks to the left appear to be more recent.

Redundant roundabout on Halton Moor Road
I presume the roundabout dates from when Halton Moor Road was a thoroughfare for vehicles. Now, the section behind the photographer is only a bridleway, and as far as motor traffic is concerned it is merely a bend in the road where it becomes Cartmell Drive (left).
