Watching the Euros
A bar at West Point was showing the England-Germany football match on indoor and outdoor screens as part of the "2020" European Cup which was actually played in 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The score was nil-nil at this point, but England went on to win the match 2-0.

Former Leeds Mail Centre
Opposite the Novotel Hotel, the former mail centre was demolished during the summer of 2003. I believe it was built on the site of a former railway station.

Green campaigning
I suppose you would expect that if any election candidate was going to promote themselves by bicycle it would be the Green one.
I should perhaps declare an interest in that the candidate is an acquaintance of mine, though I am not a member of the Green party or an elector in this ward.

Site for Lumiere
Lumiere will consist of two towers of a height of 54 storeys (171 m) and 32 storeys (112 m) both of which are to be clad in glass, one blue, the other reddish. It will be the tallest building in Britain outside London and the tallest residential building in Europe. Construction will start in 2007.
It actually started in early 2008, but piling and foundation work stopped in summer 2008 and it was announced that the project had been postponed.

Update 2018 - ultimately a much smaller building of about 10 storeys was built on the site in 2016/17

ftr bus, Wellington Street, Leeds
The ftr bus - is it an imitation of a tram, or just a bendy bus in disguise? First Travel hype it as "the new way to travel across Leeds, offering comfort, style and convenience - a brand new fleet of vehicles, equipped with the latest technology." So far it only operates on the number 4 route between Seacroft and Pudsey.

Lumiere site and West Point
The residents of West Point will be pleased that work has ceased on the Lumiere site. Even more so, the operators of a cafe in the ground floor of West Point which lost business due to the building work, went bust and has since reopened as Toast.
