Farm buildings at Nant-y-cynog
Modern clear span buildings with stone walls. The house is derelict but still a fine stone building which may be gentrified later.

Grassland improvement & maintenance
If you go to all the effort of de-stoning and reseeding an area of ground the art is to maintain the improvement. The field on the left has whins & thorn trees and is probably not intensively farmed, that on the right looks good but I think they may be signs of bracken infestation possibly caused by overstocking with one animal (probably sheep). I will need to look again later in the year to see what is happening.

Field stone dyke and fence
This very old earth filled stone dyke is made with truly massive stones and smaller field stones. Construction methods can only be a theory, were the farmers very strong, did they have animal assistance? One thing is certain, the dykes are certainly long lived.

Dyke and fence variation
I would love to know why this fence is such a mess, probably something to do with historic ownership.
