The diesel depot at Leicester in 1985 with locomotives of several different classes visible. This depot has since closed.

Class 47050 stands nearest the refuelling point. Beyond, from left to right, are Classes 20218, 20219 & 20224. The refuelling point still exists, but I'm not sure that the red-brick building does.

Bell Lane signalbox, Leicester 1979
Situated 52 chains north of Leicester station, Bell Lane controlled the access to Needham Street yard. The signalbox was swept away by the Leicester area resignalling scheme.

Maidstone Road in Highfields, Leicester
In the distance is Goscote House, Leicester’s tallest high-rise residential tower. It is currently undergoing demolition. It will be dismantled floor by floor due to its proximity to neighbouring buildings and the need to minimise disruption to people living and working nearby.
