Colourful crossing on Charles Street, Leicester
Designed by artist Phil Blake, this is one of two crossings on Charles Street, near its junctions with Halford Street and Rutland Street. Made of preformed thermoplastic, they cost £23,500.

Midland Red East 6038 turns onto Charles Street from Humberstone Gate. 6038 is a Daimler Fleetline and saw service with Midland Red from 1967 until 1981 - info from MidlandRed.net - however, this photo was taken in 1983, so the information may not cover the period when the group was split up.
