Gooseholme, Kendal
This was an island between two branches of the river, one now filled in. The branches joined again just above the mill race for Kendal Mill, and there was probably also a conduit to feed the canal around here. The Georgian houses of Thorney Hills are in the background.

Gilkes water turbine works, Kendal
At least in part in a former warehouse at the head of the Lancaster Canal. The Royal crest is seen over the company name. It is nice to see a famous industrial company still in business. The full company name is Gilbert, Gilkes and Gordon and the first water turbine was built in 1856. The company specialises in turbines and pumps.
