Paths to Monks Risborough
Two paths cross this field, both leading to Monks Risborough (the one on the left is now routed on the other side of the hedgerow from that indicated on the OS map). The topography here in Aylesbury Vale just north of the Chiltern escarpment is typically flat.

Railway at Askett
The Princes Risborough to Aylesbury branch was opened in 1863 originally as a broad gauge line. Today it is served by trains between Marylebone and Aylesbury via High Wycombe and freight trains to the tip at Calvert also run this way.
